Come out to drum along the River Walk in downtown Naperville on Sun Oct 18th starting at 1pm until 5pm. Barb made reservations for us to use the amphitheater for the afternoon, has invited several of her friends and other artists, musicians and others to join us for a festive afternoon of rhythm and community gathering.

Bring your drums, rattles, shakers and other acoustic instruments and invite some friends to tag along. Kids are always welcome, but younger ones will need supervision. Visit Merry Meets and Blessed Beats for more information.

Drumming for World Peace and Healing

The Light Heart Center in Wheaton will host Drumming for World Peace and Healing in August. This drum circle is facilitated by Reneé Ryan, founder of Healers for Peace, and Steve Aldrich, a member of the Fox Valley Drum Circle. You, your friends and loved ones are invited to a drumming and sharing. Bring your drums, rattles, other instruments, a poem, or a song to share with the intent of bringing World Peace and Healing that benefits the Earth and all people.

Harvest Drum BBQ-Picnic

Let's do a Harvest Drum and BBQ-Picnic social to celebrate the 2nd Harvest and arrival of Autumn. Family, friends and children of all ages welcome to participate and join the merriments. We can make this a potluck style feast, share the bounty of the Earth and the blessings of community to ring in the season and offer our thanks for the harvest we've gathered this year while preparing for the turning of the seasons towards
winter while Mother Nature puts on her radiant splendors.

Anyone wishing to assist with planning, logistics and other matters will be greatly welcomed and deeply appreciated.

Who says you need a DRUM???

In our description on the left side, I boldly state that you don't even NEED a drum! Several of our original gatherings included water bottles, radiators, and cardboard boxes. While most everyone these days has found a drum they really enjoy, I still believe that there is something about impromtu drumming. Jim shared these with me...so I thought I'd share them with you!

Call for hosts!!!

In case you hadn't heard, I am having a baby in July. I'd rather be safe than sorry when it comes to knowing what I am up for, so I'm looking for hosts for the Fox Valley Drum Circle for the second half of 2009.

If you would be interested in hosting the Fox Valley Drum Circle, please let me know. As always, if you host, you are welcome to define rules for that gathering. Our regular schedule of the third Saturday would mean the following dates:

July 18
August 15
September 19
October 17

These can be flexible, if another date would work better...just let me know and we'll see what we can do. In the meantime...I hope to see you at Solstice!
